This course builds a solid foundation for successful project management. Designed for both new and experienced project managers, the course walks students through the concepts, tools and techniques for working in all stages of project management: organization, planning, implementation, monitoring and control. Students will gain an overview of project management practices along with an introduction to modern facilitation processes. This course is a recommended prerequisite for the other Project Management courses.

This course may be taken independently or combined with other required courses to earn the Project Management Essentials Certificate. It may instead be applied toward the elective requirements of a 10-course certificate in Human Resources Management or Supervisory Management offered through Extended Studies if not applied toward the completion requirements of the Project Management Essentials Certificate.
