Project Management Essentials
This 18-hour course builds a solid foundation for successful project management. Designed for both new and experienced project managers, students will learn and apply the concepts, tools and techniques across project management process groups and key project management knowledge areas. Students will learn how to manage projects with confidence, plan for and mitigate project risks, and maximize stakeholder expectations. This course is a recommended prerequisite for the other courses in the Project Management Essentials Certificate Program.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Apply tools and techniques for planning, executing, and completing projects on-time and on-schedule
- Explore the role of the project manager and develop project management interpersonal skills
- Build a solid foundation for successful project management
This course may be taken independently or combined with other required courses to earn the Project Management Essentials Certificate. It may instead be applied toward the elective requirements of a 10-course certificate in Human Resources Management or Supervisory Management offered through Extended Studies if not applied toward the completion requirements of the Project Management Essentials Certificate.
