Public Sector Human Resources


This course will identify the key differences between public and private human resources processes and procedures. Interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, grievance and termination procedures will be discussed as they relate to public personnel administration. An overview of human relations systems and evaluation will also be covered. Case studies will be used to demonstrate how to investigate problems and determine appropriate discipline.

  • Gain an understanding of the basic human resources functions and current issues in the public sector
  • Develop an awareness of public human resources policies and administration
  • Identify and examine current issues in the administration of public sector human resources
