This course will focus on specific steps related to nonprofit incorporation, application as a federal charitable tax-exempt organization and protection of an organization's charitable status. Ethical and risk management issues for a charity's board and staff will be addressed in detail as will the value of using the annual financial report (IRS Form 990) as a self-assessment and planning tool for the organization.
