Writing in the Workplace: An Essential Skill

Description:

This course develops writing skills as they apply to the workplace, both in public organizations and in private businesses. This interactive, hands-on course will focus on creating clear, concise and effective reports, memos, emails and other written products. The course provides participants with communication skills to convey results and ideas in writing and in other forms of presentation.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Better understand the differences between academic writing and workplace writing
  • Develop the ability to apply different writing styles in different contexts and for different audiences
  • Quickly and accurately identify the purpose of the communication and determine the corresponding format

This course may be taken independently or applied toward a 10-course certificate in Human Resources Management or Supervisory Management offered through Extended Studies.
