This session will explore how organizations can strengthen their governance, including acquiring, growing and retaining board members. It also will explore why organizations should develop a strategic plan, how it can be developed and how it should be used.

Objectives:
• Develop an understanding of what effective nonprofit governance is and why it is important for nonprofit organizations
• Gain an understanding of strategic planning and why it is important for nonprofit organizations
• Learn how to strengthen nonprofit boards and engage in strategic planning
• Discover resources, tips and tools for strengthening governance and designing a strategic planning process
