Part I includes four required modules to complete the CPO designation. These modules introduce elected or appointed officials to the Nevada Open Meeting Law requirements, the Nevada Ethics Commission requirements, budgeting, revenues and finance, as well as expectations of appointed or elected officials who ultimately answer to the public. It is recommended participants take Part I before Part II.
- Module 1: Realities of Public Life: Roles and Responsibilities of Public Office (1 hour)
- Module 2: Budgets: Revenues Sources, Projections and Forecasts (2.5 hours)
- Module 3: Ethics in Nevada (2 hours)
- Module 4: Nevada Open Meeting Law (2 hours)
