Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Study Program

Description:

Join an exceptional program with proven results.

Since 2005, the Professional in Human Resources Study Program from Extended Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, has provided detailed instruction in the skills necessary to take the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) examination.

Program graduates who have taken the PHR or SPHR national exam have achieved an average pass rate of 72 percent overall, compared to the national average pass rate of 56 percent.

This intensive 11-session program provides a comprehensive review for HR professionals, enhancing skills and knowledge and preparing participants with test-taking techniques and materials for the PHR or senior-level SPHR examination — nationally recognized certifications designating mastery of the human resources body of knowledge.

Professional advancement
Certification indicates a level of professional achievement in one’s field. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designations are earned only by those who have demonstrated mastery of the human resources body of knowledge and have met the challenge to stay informed of new developments in a rapidly changing field.

Designed for human resources professionals preparing for the PHR or SPHR national exam, the PHR/SPHR Study Program from Extended Studies provides extensive training in test-taking techniques and has proven to be beneficial to those preparing for PHR and SPHR certification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).

Requirements
To receive a certificate of completion for the University’s PHR/SPHR Study Program, participants must attend nine of the 11 sessions.

For more information about qualifying to take the national PHR and SPHR exams, please visit the HR Certification Institute website at www.hrci.org. The HRCI testing organization will assess eligibility and approve qualifications to take the PHR or SPHR exam based on applications submitted directly to HRCI. Completion of the University’s PHR/SPHR Study Program does not guarantee acceptance from HRCI for testing.

In addition to the PHR/SPHR Study Program, Extended Studies offers the Human Resources Management Certificate.
